2007 NOVEMBER 9 - 18 |
MORRO
BAY, CALIFORNIA
|
| This will
be our 18th annual residential seminar in this beautiful setting.
Together with the Gold Beach training in the winter and Lan Ting
Institute in the summer, this course in Morro Bay accomplishes Chungliang's
most intimate, in-depth teaching. This week annually unites many
long-time friends to share their ongoing learning and mentoring
with newcomers, in a warm and nurturing atmosphere. The Inn at Morro
Bay is near the ocean and nestled within a state park, next to a
blue heron rookery and a peregrine falcon preserve. It faces the
spectacular bay, which mirrors breathtaking sunsets. The living
and food accommodations, as well as ideal inside-outside work spaces,
make for a most comfortable and elegant learning environment. Chungliang
will fine-tune the fundamentals of the Chi Gong exercises, Five
Elements and the first 3 Circles, as well as update the most current
Tai Ji Ritual developments. This is always a fun-filled gathering
and will continue to include occasional visits from musician/artist
friends, as well as a lively concert at the local bookstore's chapel. |

JANUARY 29 - FEBRUARY 3, 2008
"Moving into Center of Winter Sun - Tai Ji Intensive"
This advanced course offers an opportunity to enter deeply into
the mystery and wisdom of the Circle forms. Through concentrated
practice, we will explore our understanding and execution of the
first, second and third Circles and relate each Circle back to
its origin in the Five Elements. The first four days of this seminar
will be limited to Living Tao members who have previously studied
with Chungliang. Participants must be present for the final two
days off the course, February 2 - 3, which will be open to new
and beginning students. These two days offer an opportunity to
support Chungliang in his teaching and nurturance of new students.
It is through the shared experience with beginners that we can
recapture a freshness and impassioned energy for our own practice.
FEBRUARY 2 - 3, 2008
"Return to Tai Ji Essentials"
This two day course is open to new and beginning students as
well as allowing the ongoing Tai Ji practitioners to savor the
essence of Tai Ji with new awareness and excitement. Chungliang
will re-introduce the Five Elements and Circle forms with fresh
creativity, and using musical nurturance, poetic imagery, and
insightful discussions of the wisdom of the East, guide students
into using these enlivening Tai Ji forms to move more gently and
fluidly, improve balance and concentration, experience renewed
energy and vitality, and approach life with fresh perspectives.
New students will learn in a nurturing environment and be supported
by more experienced Tai Ji practitioners.

trumpet player, a brilliant pianist and vocalist. Chungliang has
worked with Guy at the Oregon Bach Festival for many seasons. They
will co-create an amazing evening of synergy in a concert called,
"Trumpeting the Human Spirit." During the weekend of January 26
- 27, Chungliang will again offer another variation of Tai Ji dancing
for a large group at Santa Barbara City College. For information

SPRING, SUMMER AND AUTUMN PROJECTIONS, 2008
In 2008, our Zürich Easter Tai Ji week will be temporarily suspended.
Also, our annual spring seminar in Urbana will not take place
this year. Instead, Chungliang will lead a China Study Trip on
the Silk Road, scheduled to begin on May 10th for 3 or 4 weeks.
Chungliang is currently working closely with our Chinese liaisons
to finalize the itinerary and cost. Chungliang in planning to
offer Lan Ting Institute in autumn, as a follow-up to our May-June
China study trip, to continue our exploration and to share our
China experiences with those who were not able to participate
this time. He is also planning a series of River House seminars
in October, with specific themes. Details on these seminars will
be available on our website, as well as through membership communications.
We hope this advance notice will help you in your future planning.
